Ginew makes hand-built heirloom goods using old-time methods with a focus on American made materials. Each item incorporates elements of our Native American and craftsmen heritage, and is designed to last a life's journey. Ginew is a Native - Americana brand, fusing Native fashion and heritage workwear.

Ginew is owned and operated by a husband and wife, Erik and Amanda. We are from Wisconsin and live in Portland, Oregon. Our family story is a contemporary narrative of Native American blacksmiths, farmers, machinists, sawyers, and welders. Each item we make draws direct inspiration from our relatives.

We jointly crafted our first series of belts from our wedding buffalo, which was hunted, prepared, tanned, and hand-dyed by us with our families. Our leather goods are made with pre-industrial methods, heirloom leather-working tools, and patterns handed down from generation to generation, since the 1880's. Our leather belts are meticulously crafted using either Horween® or Herman Oak® leathers and finished with some of the finest forged brass buckles.

Ginew apparel is heavily influenced by American workwear, motorcycle culture, and our tribal customs. We incorporate family symbols and teachings into our garments, while constructing them of the finest American made materials. Selvedge denim, wax canvas, and Pendleton® wool blanket fabric are some of the primary fabrics we use.

"Minobimaadiziiwin" - "Yohahi-yo sathahita?n" are philosophies in our tribes which embodies the concept to live in a good way. Simply put, LIVE WELL. We choose to live intentionally with the adventurous spirit of our relatives and invite you to join the adventure. Thank you for your interest.
